"I used to be afraid of going to the dentist.
"I never used to smile for pictures because I was so self-conscious about my teeth. However, because I was so scared of the dentist, I never got them fixed.
"The staff at McCalla Dental changed my life. They made me feel comfortable and showed me what they could do to give me a great smile.
"I had eight veneers placed on my front teeth and whitened the rest of my teeth to match. The result is fantastic — and the procedure was completely painless.
"Now I smile all the time, and more importantly, I look forward to coming in for my next checkup."
– Janice Rosser

One of Dr. Ted's patients before and after receiving porcelain veneers
Traditional porcelain veneers are thin, porcelain facings that can last for up to 20 years and look completely natural. They are used to change the shape, color, size and spacing of your teeth.
When you get traditional veneers, Dr. Ted will first prepare your teeth and craft you temporary veneers that you can try out to be certain that the size and shape of the teeth are exactly right. Once you are happy with the temporary veneers, he will have your permanent veneers specially crafted for your teeth.
Your permanent veneers will be handcrafted in Birmingham by Gray Dental Laboratory, which was founded 30 years ago by Dr. Holt Gray's father. Gray Dental Laboratory produces the highest quality porcelain veneers, carefully crafted to match and perfect your smile in color, size and shape.
Porcelain veneers have a lifelike appearance with the strength, beauty and durability that only porcelain restorations can offer. In addition, they will not discolor or wear like natural tooth enamel. We use porcelain veneers made from very high-quality porcelain that are very natural-looking, durable and custom designed specifically for you.
Porcelain veneers can correct many issues that you may have with your teeth, including:
Our porcelain veneers are carefully handcrafted to be exactly right for you. They are prepared in a trusted local Dental Lab, and will not be permanently fixed to your teeth until you are certain that the fit, color, size and shape are giving you exactly the smile that you want.
With proper care and hygiene, your new veneers will last for many years. They will look and feel like your natural teeth, while ensuring that your smile is straight, even and beautiful.
This patient is in television sales and spent a good bit of time in front of the camera. She was tired of her squared off front teeth with spaces and unnatural contours. Her new smile boosted her self confidence, and she is no longer afraid to show her pearly whites!

A lumineers veneer is only as thick as a contact lens.
Lumineers are extremely thin wafers of porcelain that are bonded to the front of the tooth. With traditional porcelain veneers, the surface of the tooth has to be shaved down. Lumineers brand veneers are so thin that they can be placed without altering the tooth. This makes getting Lumineers a very comfortable process.
The process of getting Lumineers takes only 2 visits. On your first visit, Dr. Ted will take a precision mold of your teeth, and help you choose the right shade for your new smile. The mold and specifics are sent to the Lumineers lab. On your second visit, Dr. Ted will check your custom-made lumineers for fit and shade, and attach them to your teeth.
The veneers can be placed individually. However, Dr. Ted is also certified in the new LUMITray Technology, which allows him to place up to 10 veneers at the same time, ensuring a perfect fit.
If you are a candidate for Lumineers, you can have your veneers installed without the discomfort of the tooth shaving preparation that traditional veneers require. Lumineers can be placed easily over your own teeth in just 2 visits. They will look and feel natural, and can last 20 years or longer with proper care and hygiene.

If you are looking for a temporary makeover rather than a more permanent transformation, a Snap on Smile could be right for you.
A Snap On Smile is a device that fits right over your natural teeth, completely transforming your smile in a snap. They are just as easy to remove, and you can even have the device molded in the shape of a famous celebrity such as Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise or Julia Roberts.
Snap on Smile can also be a way to try out a new look before committing to an expensive cosmetic procedure. It only takes two visits to get your appliance fitted and Dr. Ted can perform the procedure right in our office.
On your first visit, Dr. Ted will photograph and measure your teeth, and mold an impression. He will send your information into the Snap On Smiles lab, and your new smile will be ready for you to try on in just a couple of weeks.
No adhesives are needed for your Snap on Smile. The devices hook directly onto your own teeth - sort of like a retainer.
The Snap on Smile gives you the appearance of a perfect smile at a much lower cost than veneers, and does not alter your natural teeth. The teeth fit right up to your gumline, and hide imperfections including missing teeth, broken or chipped teeth, gaps, stained teeth and misaligned teeth.
A Snap on Smile is a temporary solution, but with proper care it can last 3- 5 years.
