At McCalla Dental, we have put together a highly trained, experienced team of dentists so that we can effectively care for each of our patients.
Dr. Ted Poczatek, our primary cosmetic dentist, graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2003. His main interest and focus in his dental practice has been to learn and master innovative techniques in cosmetic dentistry, making him a highly-regarded dentist who understands what his patients need and want when they are looking for a smile makeover.
Dr. Ted has become very experienced in many cosmetic dental techniques, including veneers, Lumineers, Snap on Smiles, crowns and teeth whitening.
He is joined by Dr. John, who specializes in Invisalign and Six Month Smiles braces and by Dr. Gray, a prosthodontist who can restore broken-down or damaged teeth with dental implants.

When you meet with Dr. Ted, he will ask you questions to find out what it is that you like and don't like about your smile. He will listen carefully, because he is interested in creating a treatment plan for you that will help you to get exactly what you want from your dental treatment.
A thorough smile evaluation
Dr. Ted will thoroughly examine your mouth, jaw and teeth, to make sure that he understands the exact situation. He'll explain to you exactly what he finds, and make sure that you understand the current condition of your mouth and smile. If necessary, he will call in one or more of his colleagues to examine and evaluate your situation.
Dr. Ted will explain your makeover options
Next, Dr. Ted will explain your makeover options to you. He will show you examples of the different procedures, using models and before and after photos to make sure you get a complete understanding of the various possibilities. Using Cosmetic Imaging tools like Snap!™, he can show you how your new smile will look before you begin any treatment.
He'll let you know which treatment is recommended, and why, and he will answer all of your questions about the different treatment options.

Teeth sometimes develop with different translucency and base color. This patient complained of the "black triangles" and color discrepancy. Through a mixture of veneers and crowns, we closed the space, unified the color, and corrected proportions.
